I got excepted but im going on the Celtic Cultures program which goes to England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales i cant wait till next summer
So far i have sent out a ton of sponsorship letters and within 2 days one person had already given me $50 and im also going to do a bake sale, 50/50, garage sales and other stuff like that
Im also going to do this thing where you go around and stick pink flamingos in peoples yards in your town and then it will have a sign on its neck that will say for $10 i can be removed from your yard, for $15 i can be removed and stuck in someone elses yard of your choice, and for an extra $5 you can purchase flamingo insurance to guarentee i wont come back
They also have alot more ideas on the people to people website

I am hoping to get excited. I am apply for the Turkey trip with PTPI only 50 people from around the world get to go. It is really competitive apparently. You have to fill out a bunch of essay questions in the application.

I really hope so. Some of the questions are hard to answer.

If you were to make a committee of three people (living or dead) who would you choose to help make decisions?
What Inspires you?
Discuss a social, political, economic event that as affected your country. Talk about ways to students can help change this problem.
I am not allowed to have any help, no teachers, no family, nothing. I have most of the questions filled out.

Thanks. I am really nervous. I just got the email for it the other day and I have until November 30 to submit the application. It has been a dream of mine to go to Turkey. I have always wanted to go to Istanbul. It is kind of dangerous to go alone if you don't know what you are doing, I would feel 10 times safer with p2p. Not to mention you get to meet with Mary Eisenhower, have peace conferences almost everyday, visit a school, a children's rehabilitation center, fly in a hot air ballon.

I'm aware, I got the same invite. It's really not touring. Just be aware.
