The new People to People Countdown widget is currently available for both the Yahoo! Widget Engine and the Google Desktop Gadgets Engine. Both options require you to install the free widget software available from Yahoo! or Google on your computer before they will work. Both systems are available for Macs and PCs (plus the Google version will load directly into Apple’s Dashboard application once Google Desktop has been installed.)

Widget instructions:

For Yahoo!:

1. Download and install the Yahoo! Widget Engine, available free here.
2. Click the Yahoo! download link below and SAVE the People to People widget file to your computer. Be sure to click "Save" and not "Open".
3. Find the People to People widget file on your computer, extract the zip file, and double-click the .widget file contained inside to install the widget.
4. Once opened, right click (control-click on a Mac) and select “Widget Preferences.”
5. Set the “Date” field to your departure date.
6. Set the “Time” field to your departure time.
7. If desired, you may change the “Label” that appears on the front side of the widget. The default is set to “Traveling with People to People in:.”
8. Click “Save”

For Google:

1. Download and install Google Desktop, available free here. Make sure that you choose to include Gadgets in your installation.
2. Click the Google download link below and SAVE the People to People widget file to your computer. Be sure to click "Save" and not "Open".
3. Find the People to People widget file on your computer, extract the zip file, and double-click the .gg file contained inside to install the widget.
4. Once opened, right click (control-click on a Mac) and select “Options.”
5. Set the “Date” field to your departure date.
6. Set the “Time” field to your departure time.
7. If desired, you may change the “Label” that appears on the front side of the widget. The default is set to “Traveling with People to People in:.”
8. Click “OK”
